Financial Aid PDF Print

Barat Academy is committed to enrolling qualified students from all social and economic backgrounds and accordingly offers a financial aid program. Barat Academy’s Board of Directors tries to make financial aid available to any family whose children have been accepted at Barat Academy and who have demonstrated a financial need. Barat Academy will be using School and Student Service for Financial Aid, to help process and evaluate our financial assistance applications. Our deadline for filing your application is TBD(Current Students). Please note the following procedures:

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

Barat Academy uses the School and Student Service for Financial Aid Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS), along with tax and income information in order to determine financial aid awards. Online instructions explaining how to apply for financial aid are listed below. Please read all of the instructions carefully as an incomplete or inaccurate application may delay or jeopardize your financial aid award. To receive a printed version of the financial aid application, please contact Michael Albrecht, Director of Business and Finance, at 636-300-5553.

STEPS FOR COMPLETION OF THE ONLINE FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION:
  • Connect to School & Student Services for Financial Aid at www.nais.org/go/sss to access the online financial aid application.
  • Read the instructions and complete the online financial aid application thoroughly. Use SSS code #4470 for Barat Academy.
  • Send a printout of the PFS, a copy of your 2009 Federal Form 1040 with all accompanying schedules and a copy of your 2008 W-2’s to Michael Albrecht at Barat Academy.
  • You will receive a determination letter from Barat Academy in April. Please sign and return it within the deadline given in the letter if you accept the financial aid award.
NOTE:If one of the parents listed in question #6 on the PFS is not employed, please explain the reasons this in the space designated for question #32.

In order for the Barat Academy Financial Aid Committee to complete the review of your application, the following must be true:

  • You have applied for admission of your child(ren) and have been accepted for 2010/11 (new families) or have sent in your re-enrollment forms for your child(ren) for next year.
  • You must not have any outstanding tuition or technology fees from a previous year. You must be up-to-date on the current year's tuition.
  • Your application must be complete. This includes a copy of the financial aid application (PFS) and your 2009 Federal Form 1040 and accompanying schedules with W-2’s sent to Michael Albrecht, Director of Business and Finance, at Barat Academy.
  • Your application must be submitted to SSS and copies of appropriate forms must be mailed to our office by deadline TBD. Families who submit applications after that date will receive aid awards only as funds allow.

Completed Financial Aid applications received after the deadline (current students) will be assessed as soon as possible if funds are still available. It is extremely important to submit the financial aid application on time, as there are budgetary limits to the available funds.

Please realize that financial aid is based on current assessed need. You will need to apply every year. Please note that if your financial situation changes, your aid award may change as well.

Barat Academy’s Financial Aid Committee determines financial aid awards. The committee’s deliberations are confidential and address only the factors affecting the assessment of need. The committee is made up of board members, board committee members, the Director of Business and Finance and the President of the school.
